Turkey, Nemrut dagi horse ride to the top

Today I want to share a great experience with you. My day started in eastern Turkey in the city of Adiyaman. I came there with a classy 5* bus with a purpose of visiting nemrut dagi , a worship place on the top of the mountain 2200m high.

 I came earlier to the town of Adiyaman and decided that the best way to get up is on a horse. Here was a problem....I was never on a horse before. I rented one at rent-a-horse place and yes it really exists there and started to go up the mountain. After a 5h long ride I came to the top. The view there is just amazing! It is a bit hard to get on the top of Nemrut but you can go up the mountain with a car or a bus. So don't do it the same way I did it because it is not the smartest, cheapest or the fastest idea. There are lots of transports from Adiyaman to Nemrut and back for 15-25€.

  I decided to stay there for the night with my horse friend in my little tent to see sunset and sunrise. The holy place up the mountain is amazing and really worth seeing. It is amazing what people built in the past to worship their gods and kings.

So far sleeping on the open at 7000feet didn't look like a bad idea, but at night wind was blowing with more then 100 km/h and I didn't get much sleep.

Waking up at the view like on the top of Nemrut it's just unforgettable and I would go back and have a bad sleep on the rocks in a tent again, just to see those beautiful colors nature makes every evening and every morning on the top of Nemrut Dagi.
